Here is a rare and spectacular Karabagh presentation rug. In the Armenian population rugs were important sources of income, important dowry items, important gifts to churches, or special gifts to important individuals such as state officials. In this rug we see two men with red fez type hats overseeing a field filled with barnyard animals. Since the main figures in this rug are wearing red fez hats, I assume the rug was woven for a prosperous Turkish family, perhaps for two prosperous brothers.
